Why Skateboarding Is Awesome

Since 8th grade, my favorite professional skateboarder has been Heath Kirchart.  However, he recently retired and I have now moved on to Brandon Westgate.  This dude seriously has the highest pop and skates sooooo fast.  Even if you don't skate, you can get enjoyment out of this shit...Especially at 9:43.

Most Legit Dude Ever

So we were in Arcata, California and we happened to come across a rather interesting person.  His name was Ryan Hammer and he was visiting from San Fran.  We talked for a while about film and he seemed to know a lot of interesting stuff.  He gave us tips on websites that have camera gear for cheap and a bunch of random crap.  He also claimed to know the owner of the REDCam company(the guy who invented Oakley sunglasses) and he claimed to be nominated for a Grammy.  At the time the guy seemed a little cocky but still kinda legit.  He told us that he had a partnership with Youtube and once made a thousand dollars in a month off ad space, which was interesting because he only had a couple hundred views on his videos.  We recently signed up for adspace on the born ready youtube channel and our statement for the last month says we've made somewhere around four dollars.  The best part about the whole thing was watching the video of him playing his Grammy nominated song:

We looked it up.  Nowhere on the Grammy's website is his name even mentioned... One of the funniest parts was what he does at 2:30 and when the official Grammy logo flashes at the end.  Needless to say, Ryan Hammer was one of the funniest people we've met on our trip haha.  Memorable quotes:
"Yah man, I had a youtube partnership was makin' like a G a month, they offered to renew my contract and I'm like fuck that shit, but i didn't wanna say it cuz I'm freaked out about illuminati and shit."
"Yah dude, she asked me if I could do a deal on her music video shoot and I was like 'well, you got no one else, so what are you gonna do for me?'"
"I put out a song through a major label, it was whatever, so I said fuck it, I'm not doin' this shit unless I get full creative control."

All Nighter

It's 5:40 AM and I've been up all night with Jimmy Murray editing a teaser for our upcoming documentary about Roaming Bear.  Basically our deadline for this whole thing was a long time ago and now we're trying to hammer it out in order so we can finally show our investors and lock down the budget.  It's lookin' real good right now.  I would give more details but it would take forever to describe.  Anyway, apparently there was a new article posted online about us that I recently found.  The title kind of doesn't make sense because there's no set release date for Garage Hoppers but either way, it's kinda cool.

Hawt Pixxx

Here's a Label designed by Kevin Burns from our movie The Garage Hoppers.  Subtle yet captivating.

MUNDAY

Went and saw Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings at Summerfest in Milwaukee with Micah RossAustin Brown and Deem.  Might have been the best show I've ever been to.

Spent the whole week in Waukegan with no electricity.  It was kinda nice to get off this fuckin' computer for a while.  Didn't do much this weekend besides get settled into my new apartment.  I set up my own office type area on one end of my living room.  Shit's sick, I got my own file cabinet and everything.  I got this bulletin board/whiteboard from my dad for organizing thoughts and ideas but it looks like it's just being used to draw dicks and shit by whoever comes over.  Maybe I should hide the markers.  Went to Pitchfork yesterday with This Guy and saw Odd Future.  Those dudes are some crazy fucks.  Anyway we made a new video with Deem, Schanne Cade, and Bernardo Lopez.  Check it.

Speaking of Bernardo Lopez, this may be the funniest video I've ever seen:

That's it for today.  I'll leave you with a photo of Jake Andrews gettin' ready to eat a bratwurst:

Check it

So I decided to start a blog cuz I wanna post shit, but I don't wanna get a twitter and I don't wanna bug my facebook friends with a bunch of links.  So this is for people who wanna know what's going on with me and wanna see some funny/cool shit.  This will most likely be updated more than the Born Ready Films website cuz it's a lot easier to do.  Trill.

Anyway, I just graduated college and now I'm chillin in Chicago makin' movies and shit.  I'm gearing up for a documentary to be shot in August.  More updates on that comin' soon.  For now, check out the latest short we made.

Also, I've been listening to a lot of Big Krit lately.  I'll probably be posting more songs and shit I'm diggin' on in the future.  That's all for now.
